Trekking in the Cordillera Blanca Classic we will see the unique variety of vegetation and wildlife of the area. We will also see rivers and mountains such as the Taulliraju (5.830 m), Chopicalqui (6.354 m) and Chacraraju (6.112 m). And we see the Huascaran (6,768 m), Peru’s highest mountain.
Itinerary
This is a day of easy access within the Santa Cruz with 4 hours of walking.
We will follow the Santa Cruz Creek which will give us a view of the nearby mountains and condor.
We will reach the very highest point of the trek, Punta Union (4750), where we see the best view of this hike and take a break for the photos and our lunch.
This day the walk is short and passes by some villages through Vaqueria and then to Cebollapanpa to reach the bus to our next camp. On the way we see the mountains of Chopicalqui, Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju, and Huascaran (6768m.snm), the highest mountain in Peru.
We will begin this day very early walking about four hours to reach the lake. We will enjoy the beautiful view here and then return to camp to get ready for our return to Huaraz.
