Itinerary
Tours de AventuraRecojo of your hotel in our transport to Piskacuchu (2700m.) Or a community located on kilometer 82 of Cusco – Machupicchu of the ferrea road, starting point of the Inca Trail. We start our walk crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River and we will walk a long way of flat terrain to Miskay (2800m.), And from there climb to the town of Llactapata (2650m.). To finally arrive in five hours to Wayllabamba (3000m.), Where it will be our first camp.
We wake up around 6:00 a.m. and after the Adventure Tours Breakfast, we start the most difficult part of the trek, we will climb the Llulluchapampa valley 9 km. Throughout this valley the scenery changes abruptly from sierra to puna. The path will lead us to the first step Warmihuañusca (Step of the dead woman – 4225 m / 13776 feet), we will see domesticated llamas and alpacas that walk on the ichu, some plants and animals like the Spectacled Bear (the bear with lenses / Tremarctus Ornatos Ursus) and deer. Crossing the passage the cloudy valley of Pacaymayo (3600m), where we will camp.
This day is the longest but also the most interesting, the number of archaeological sites and the cloud forest that we will cross. We left Pacaymayo early to the second step, the Abra de Runkurakay (3970m). Halfway, we stop to visit the archaeological complex with the same name. This site, located at 3800m, consists of a small oval structure. After going over the pass, we descended to Yanacocha and entered the cloud forest, to arrive at Sayacmarca (3624m.) Definitely. This is a beautiful complex formed by a semicircular construction, we will pass the Inca tunnel and later we arrive at the third step, the Abra de Phuyupatamarca (3700m.). Along this road we can appreciate the magnitude of the Inca power, Phuyupatamarca (people above the clouds). We continue our descent by a stone road that leads us to Wiñaywayna (2650m.), Inca complex formed by numerous agricultural terraces, place of our camp. We will have hot rods and showers. Farewell dinner in our camp.
Adventure ToursWe get up at 4.00 am to leave Wiñaywayna and in an hour reach Intipunku (sun gate) and an hour of excursion along the path of flat stones on the edge of the mountainous jungle, we could see the sunrise in Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol (2750 m.), And in an average of 40 min. We will descend from the mentioned place to the Sanctuary Machupicchu. Continuing the descent to the control where we checked and left our backpacks. We will start a full guided tour of the Inca Sanctuary, approximately two hours, with free time to walk and climb the mountain of Waynapicchu. In the afternoon, we will meet in the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have the option to visit the thermal baths, then return to Cusco.
