It is one of the closest snow-capped mountains to the city of Huaraz, easier and more accessible; It is part of the Contrahierbas massif in the Cordillera Blanca. From the summit you can see impressive mountains such as Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Contrahierbas, Copa, Hualcan and Ulta

- Day 1: Full day: Huaraz – Summit Mateo 5.150 m – Huaraz
Approximate walk: 5-6 hours
We left the city of Huaraz very early, we headed north for around 2 hours by car, to the bus station, we began the walk to the summit located at 5150 masl, we will descend back to Huaraz.
