Quitarraju

Approximate walk: 4 to 5 hours.

We leave Huaraz heading north to reach the town of Cashapampa where we begin the walk towards the Santa Cruz ravine and continue until we reach our camp in Llamacorral.

We pass through the ichiccocha, jatuncocha and arhuaycocha lagoons. We will walk to the rock path that takes us to the Alpamayo Base Camp

From Base Camp we continue along the moraine and then enter the East Alpamayo Glacier; Camp 1 is located between the mountain pass of Alpamayo and Quitaraju, we camped on the glacier.

This day we leave at 1 am, heading towards the summit of Quitaraju, it is an ascent of 60 80 ° inclination in approximately 750 m of wall, return to the high camp.

We will leave early after breakfast to Base Camp and enjoy the scenery of the mountains around.

We will walk to the town of Cashapampa where we will take the bus back to Huaraz.
