This mountain is considered a viewpoint of the Cordillera Blanca because it has an easily accessible view from the summit. Our approach is through the Llanganuco ravine where we pass through two beautiful lakes, Chinancocha (3,850 m.) and Orcococha (3,863 m.) surrounded by the most impressive mountains such as Huandoy (6,395 m), Alpamayo (5,947 m), Artesonraju (6,025 m.), Chacraraju (6,112 m.), Chopicalqui (6,345 m.), Huascarán (6,768 m.) and others.
Itinerary
approximate walk: 3 – 4 hours
We boarded a bus that we took through the Callejon de Huaylas Carhuaz passing through towns and there we took a detour through Yungay to Lake Llanganuco (3850m), then we arrived at Cebollapampa where we began the trek to base camp.
approximate walk: 8 – 10 hours
We leave early to reach the pass that joins Nevado Huandoy and Nevado Pisco. We will cross the southwest ridge, which is the main route that leads directly to the summit of Nevado Pisco, from there we will see the sunrise and the following mountains: Chacraraju, Artezonraju , Pyramid, Chopicalqui, Huascarán and Huandoy. We then begin our descent back to the Pisco base camp.
approximate walk: 3 – 4 hours
This is an easier day in which we descend to Cebollapampa to take the bus back to Huaraz.
