Urus-Ishinca-Tocllaraju

Our bus will leave early from the city of Huaraz to the north arriving at the town of Collon and from here we will start our short walk until we reach the base camp. The camp is located in the Ishinca valley and it is where we will spend the night.

This day we will leave the base camp early to go to the Summit of the snowy Urus. We will start along a well-marked path in the form of a zigzag and go through an area of ​​rocks we will reach the glacier, from the snowy area we will see different peaks such as: Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Copa, and another 5 thousand such as Ishinca, Akillpo, Vicos and more; then we return to our base camp.

We begin the ascent to the Ishinca summit, which is located at 5,530 meters above sea level. We continue making trips to overcome cracks, we arrive at the Ranrapalca – Ishinca pass and we will take a short break, at this point you can already see some mountains such as Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Pucaranra, Chinchey and another 5 miles such as Urus, Akillpo and more. We will descend to reach the Ishinca base camp where we will spend the night.

We will leave our camp early, the ascent to the high camp is by a zigzag ascending slope until we reach a rocky area towards the moraine and after a few hours of walking we will arrive at the high camp where we will camp.

approximate walk: 10 – 12 hours
This day starts early with the mountain equipment. Upon reaching the base of the summit we prepare to climb, we will go through cracks, snow bridges and slopes until we reach the top of the mountain. From this summit we will see the other peaks of the Cordillera Blanca such as: Palcaraju, Ranrapalca, Ishinca, Urus, Akillpo, Copa, Huantsán, Ocshapalca, Vallunaraju and then we will descend to base camp.

We return from the base camp to the town of Collon where a bus awaits us that will bring us back to Huaraz.
